Despair.com

I love the movie “Office Space.” It is one of the greatest satires of the corporate world. Well if you love that, this might be up your ally. Despair.com is a great site. It pokes fun at those stupid motivational devices used by some corporato-types and self-help tools that often times come across as insincere and unrealistic. These are the ones I thought were hilarious. The ones with asterisks are the funnier ones. Bear in mind that my humor is darker than most.

Irregardless…

I have always found it curious when people guide me through the adjustment process as if I had no idea what I’m doing or claim ignorance to spectacle abuse as if I don’t know any better. I normally don’t get offended, but today was an exception. I had, what I would describe as, a know-it-all. The glasses submitted to me for adjustment were obviously abused, but I was queried inquisitorially as to the reason “they were falling apart.” This gets me a little bit angry and I usually get very direct and let the patient know that the spectacles were in fact abused which then (more…)
