Single Tilt Calculator

Single Tilt Calculator estimates the prescription effect of either pantoscopic tilt or face form tilt using the same single-tilt logic reflected in the older OpticiansFriend Java tools.

Select the tilt type, enter the prescription and angle, and the calculator will estimate the induced sphere, induced cylinder, and resulting axis for that single-tilt condition.

This page is especially useful when you want a quick focused result without running the full Lens Analyzer, while still staying connected to the broader Oblique Tilt Calculator workflow.

How This Calculator Works

For pantoscopic tilt, the working meridian is the 90 meridian and the induced cylinder axis is reported at 180. For face form tilt, the working meridian is the 180 meridian and the induced cylinder axis is reported at 90.

This follows the same single-tilt logic reflected in the older PantoscopicTilt and FaceForm Java tools: first find power in the relevant meridian, then apply the sphere-tilt and cylinder-tilt equations to estimate the induced result.

When This Is Useful

This page is useful when you want a focused answer for one tilt type at a time. It is a simpler tool than the combined Oblique Tilt Calculator and Lens Analyzer, but it can help make the single-tilt logic easier to understand and verify.
