V.A.S.T.

I love music. One of the few musicians/artists that continually provides awesome tunes is V.A.S.T. which stands for Visual Audio Sensory Theater, the title of the first official album.

VAST's First Album

With an album cover like that how can I not love this band?! :)

Anyway, if you like rock, this guy is great. I say guy because he, Jon Crosby, plays most of the instruments on this album. He has a more permenant band now though. I haven’t been this enthusiastic about music in a long time. I first heard a song of VAST on a website as intro music and I have never heard anything like it. The site is called Art 4 the Soul (warning: the intro is a little racy) and is sort of gothic in feel. You can hear several tunes from several underground artists. The music on here is primarily industrial with mixed synths. It’s pretty good if you are into it. When I heard the intro, I kept asking around if they knew who the artist was. I emailed the webmaster like 3 times in a week. I didn’t just want to know…I had to know! Finally she emailed me back with the artists name. Believe me, I would have kept emailing. I went on musicmatch and downloaded the song entitled “Touched”. The song is phenomenal to put it mildly. Those crazy voices are the Bulgarian Women’s Choir. I was so impressed that I downloaded the album. After hearing the album, I knew this was great. I have purchased all his albums from amazon, including the one I had downloaded already. He has a cool website. I think I have all of his albums including some unreleased stuff which is also phenomenal and is being released in December.

To keep this entry somewhat eye related I thought the album cover was pretty indicative of a condition known as heterochromia iridis (two colors in one eye. Heterochromia iridum are when both eyes do not match in color, but each eye has a single color in it.), it may also be known as partial or sectorial heterochromia (although I’m sure the album cover was done using photoshop). It may be indicative of a disease if it isn’t congenital.
